Recent stories by and about Florian Groß

Why I admire Dave Thomas

Without the first Pickaxe Book I probably wouldn’t even know Ruby.

Thanks a lot for exposing it to all of us!

Why I want to meet Simon Strandgaard

Wrote an editor and his own very powerful Regular Expression library in Ruby. Very cool.

A story about me

If you are involved in the Ruby or Rails community you might have used ruby-breakpoint that I wrote.

I also reworked parts of the pluralization code for Rails and wrote the initial WEBrick server ages ago.

Lately I’m not as productive as I want to be, but that’s OK.

Why I admire hal9000

Author of the Ruby way and quite involved in the community as well. Talked to him on the #ruby-lang channel more than once and he’s a very interesting person that has been part of the Ruby community for quite a while.

Why I admire David A. Black

He’s been involved with the Ruby community for quite a while.

He’s slightly conservative regarding the language, but that makes for very interesting feedback.

He’s given me advise and feedback about my own Ruby projects more than once. He really helped me to get involved with the language.

Thank you!

Why I want to meet why

Why not?

Why I admire Yukihiro Matsumoto

Because he designed a wonderful programming language that makes my life easier and more fun. Thank you!

Why I admire aredridel

She works in the service area and still happens to be a very kind and broadly interested and deeply knowledgable person.
